U.S. Comptroller of the Currency Honors First Hope Bank on its Centennial Anniversary

Hope, NJ, July 6, 2012

As First Hope Bank continues to celebrate its 100 year anniversary throughout the year, individuals, families and organizations big and small have also saluted the bank for its century of service to the community. Most recently, First Hope was commended by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), which is part of the United States Department of Treasury. The OCC’s primary mission is to charter, regulate, and supervise all national banks and federal savings associations.

Melissa F. Scofield, Assistant Deputy Comptroller of the New York Metro area for the OCC, addressed a meeting of the Bank’s Board of Directors conveying congratulations and best wishes from John Walsh, Comptroller of the Currency, and the New York Office of the OCC. She then presented Norman E. Beatty, President and Chief Executive Officer of First Hope Bank, a certificate and letter to mark the bank’s historic milestone. “More than a century ago, the Comptroller of the Currency granted my grandfather Lewis C. Beatty, Sr. a charter to open the doors of First Hope Bank. I am deeply honored that one hundred years later the OCC has taken the time to recognize this momentous achievement and all those who have served in the bank over the years to make it possible,” Mr. Beatty remarked.
