First Hope Bank Hosts Holiday Open House
On Thursday, December 23, First Hope Bank hosted a holiday open house at all six office locations, inviting all customers and prospective customers to stop in to enjoy food and friendship throughout the day. The event was well received by all and much enjoyed by the staff.
The offices were decorated in celebration of the event. "Our branch was very festive with the tree aglow, holiday music playing in the background, and of course the assortment of offered treats," said Teresa Bono, assistant manager of the Sparta office.
Indeed, all of the offices boasted tasty cuisine, some homemade by branch staff, while other treats were provided by customers specializing in catering. The event began at 7:30 am and ran throughout the day until 6:00 pm. Treats abounded in every office: bagels, muffins, and doughnuts in the morning, sandwiches, flavored meatballs and kielbasa, mini quiches, and other finger food items during the day, and homemade cookies and assorted treats for dessert. An assortment of beverages, including hot chocolate, hot apple cider, coffee, and punch, was also available.
"Some customers were very surprised that a bank would do something like this just to wish them a happy holiday and to show our appreciation," said Susan Hillyerd, branch manager of the Hope office. Customers from other offices were equally surprised and pleased. "One customer commented that she was happy she came to bank with us, since her last bank never did anything like this," said Dawn Barbera, Great Meadows branch manager.
"I think what was nice about it," said Blairstown branch manager Cheryl Teke, "was that every customer was welcome, and I think people felt that we really care about them."
Deena Smith, manager of the Andover office, added, "After people got here, they didn't want to leave because they felt so comfortable – that hometown bank feeling!"
"I constantly heard from customers about our wonderful customer service and staff," added Cindy Matthews, Hackettstown branch manager. "Everyone was very happy and thanked us over and over again… a truly great day!"
A Brighter, Cleaner Future at First Hope Bank
At First Hope, we are committed to reducing our carbon footprint. So committed, in fact, that we have begun work on a major solar farm to power our Blairstown office complex. Through the capture of solar energy, we plan to offset 99% of our electricity usage. Over the next 25 years, we'll reduce our CO2 emissions by over 8.6 million tons! That's the equivalent of 25.8 million miles not driven, or 136.1 acres of trees planted.
We expect our solar panels to begin producing electricity in May 2011. While we are very proud of this initiative, we also pledge to continue our environmental proactiveness over the coming years.
First Hope encourages your family to work toward a greener planet, too, remembering that even small changes, like accessing your First Hope Bank statements online, can bring substantial results.
Let's look toward a brighter future together.
